Warner Brothers Studios
Burbank, CA
The three-story Building 34 on the lot at Warner Brothers houses offices for Sound Stage15. GBE was called in to retrofit the building with new HVAC and plumbing systems with spare capacity for the second and third floors and part of the first floor. Working diligently with the Warner Brothers facilities personnel, GBE was successfully able to retrofit the building while allowing for future capacity needs.
Braemar Country Club
Tarzana, CA
The exclusive Braemar Country Club has undergone a significant facelift. The renovations include a new 5,000 sf fitness center complete with an outdoor patio that will serve as a focal point to the club’s entrance. Additionally, the bar/lounge area now has a larger open floor plan with new lighting design and an outdoor patio facing the golf course. The patio even has a fire pit and work stations for use by members.
GBE worked on the MEP design of the new fitness building and the renovated bar/lounge area. The fitness building included an under-floor raceway system that allows the area to be reconfigured for future uses. The bar/lounge area will be equipped with LED lighting and incandescent fixtures have been replaced with energy-efficient fluorescent lighting.
Wallis Annenberg Youth Center
Norwalk, CA
The Wallis Annenberg Youth Center is the new home to the Norwalk Youth Activity League, a program sponsored by the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation. The majority of the 4 million dollar price tag was donated by the Wallis Annenberg Foundation. The 5,600 sf building will house a gymnasium, locker rooms and exercise rooms as well as computer labs and classrooms. GBE provided innovative green design that included the use of duct socks for the exercise areas, a mini-split A/S system and standardization of light fixtures and lamps.
Debbie Allen Dance Academy
Baldwin Hills, CA
The existing restaurant building was converted to a dance studio complete with offices for staff, locker rooms, and 4 large dancing studios. GBE provided daylighting via skylights and large windows for both the lighting and HVAC design for maximum comfort and sustainability in the building. Additionally, expressive and efficient artwork lighting was installed to highlight displays along the walls of the studio.
