Santa Fe Building
Los Angeles, CA
In the Gallery Row District of downtown Los Angeles, Gotama Building Engineers designed the conversion of a historic high-rise office building, the former Santa Fe Railroad Headquarters built the early 20th century, to live/work loft spaces, under the adaptive re-use ordinance. Many of the lofts include the original hexagonal plaster columns, transoms and doors with new wire glass, skylights and lightwells, mosaic tile and sealed or polished distressed concrete floors. With the design addition of state-of-the-art kitchens and baths, this project revitalizes the conversion of this historic building by maintaining vintage details with updated amenities for modern urban living.
