When the fourth and seventh floors of their eight-story nursing tower needed remodeling, it was vital that the rest of the floors remained operational, that cleanliness was a priority and that the nurses’ facilities continued to operate uninterrupted. In addition to the nursing tower remodel, GBE also provided master planning for the replacement of building 68’s central air handling unit, an MEP study for building 55 as well as a central plant boiler replacement. GBE’s efforts were crucial: in addition to providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design, they also provided assistance in securing Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) approval and cooperation.
