East Los Angeles College

Los Angeles, CA

Under Proposition AA, two buildings (E1 and G1) have undergone substantial renovation. GI is a three-story, 42,000 sf structure that will become the new administration building for the school. E1 is a two-story, 42,000 sf building that will become the new Student Services Center.

Both projects follow LEED design guidelines including energy efficient lighting, mechanical systems and office equipment. Their lighting design is 30% below Title 24 yet still meets IES recommended photometric levels.

GBE, in addition to their MEP design for both buildings, provided lighting design for the courtyard, a formal campus entry, the corridor between the Student Services and Administration buildings and the Student Services landmark clock tower.
