Vision Theater and Manchester Jr. Arts Center
Los Angeles, CA
First opened in 1931 as a large, neighborhood movie house, this Spanish-style palace has had several other incarnations: chapel, theatre and performing arts center. Taken over by city in 1997, this 45,000 sf landmark now gets a new life: it will be renovated from a 1050-seat cinema to a 750-seat, state-of-the-art performing arts center. There will be a new 5,000 sf basement, new foyer and renovated state and support areas.
